WebThis masterpiece made television history. 60 episodes of pure writing, directing, and acting excellence. If you haven't seen it, obviously a large commitment, but it is unforgettable. Described by Wendell Pierce as a "fictional documentary", it's immersion level and detail make for an experience that is only matched by Breaking Bad in my opinion. WebYou should watch The Wire, period. If you are able to easily watch the original SD on DVD, watch that. It is what the creators envisioned, and, more importantly, shots were specifically blocked and framed for 4:3. Therefore, it is the more "correct" version. If HD is the only thing readily available, watch that.
